Fall 2022 - Spring 2023
- To my knowledge MIT does not do recycling anymore so just throw stuff in the trash
- You will have to get used to repeating yourself constantly; yell at people to wash dishes at the end of each house meeting, yell at people for not putting stuff away in commons. It’s never going to be perfect, but you should always set the expectation and norm that people can’t get away with leaving common spaces dirty
- Asynchronous works should generally be kept to a minimum; if you’re busy or just need a break from running works, it’s fine, especially if the previous social event is small. However, people sometimes will make mistakes or just miss things that are much harder to catch unless you’re willing to spend the time to scan everyone’s work; even then, you’ll either have to track them down or fix the problem yourself
- Maybe go easier on the freshmen; they literally do not know what works are, so they don’t understand the expectations around things like showing up for works week
- Be wary about mattresses + bedframes, particularly when ppl are moving in; people sometimes want to buy new mattresses + bedframes and ask for it to be reimbursed, so the decision should be made on a case by case basis but don’t do it too liberally; the closets will be come too full and you’ll have to call someone to dispose of the mattresses for you
- Create a more organized way of coordinating with the House Repair Manager on the things in the house that are broken/need to be fixed, and the status on each of them
Fall 2018, Spring 2019
- Keep brother happiness and cleanliness balanced by having one hour works - only clean what needs to be cleaned (i.e. don't clear out commons just to mop and sweep every week)
- Find a way to keep the dumpster locked (I tried locking it, but the trash dudes just keep destroying it)
- MIT Recycling sucks; they don't pick up the recycables in a timely manner (they forget); if there comes a time when you can remove the bins, DO IT.
- Always tell brothers to wash their dishes after dinner; otherwise dirty dishes will be left behind and set and serve will do more work than he wants to do (point 1)
- clear out trash bins twice a week (once on Wednesday night and once on Sunday morning)
- don't be your GRA's maid; he's a strong independent man so can do his own crap
- don't let (pink?) mold grow on your nice bathtubs

Spring 2012
- Yet to put something here
Your job as Summer House Manager really does start early in the Spring semester. You need to make sure that the Summer housing that the house offers is publicized so that we can get a full house.
